Amadee L. Braxton

Amadee L. Braxton is a writer and filmmaker whose work is chiefly concerned with African American culture and the power of marginalized communities. Amadee has worked on various documentary films as researcher, writer, or associate producer including W.E.B. Du Bois: A Biography in Four Voices (1996), Watermelon Woman (1997), Teens On Sex (1998), NO!, and TOWARD INCLUSION, A History of Racial Diversity at Penn (2006). She is currently penning a biographical portrait of her late father, Marvin A. Braxton. In addition to her creative work, Amadee is a committed social justice organizer and has served in leadership on the boards of the National Black Radical Congress, Prevention Point Philadelphia needle exchange, and the Community HIV/AIDS Mobilization Project (CHAMP). Amadee is also a tennis addict and explores her spirituality through Iyengar yoga and as a Reiki Master Practitioner.
