Ana B. Hernámdez was born in Spain to a Spanish mother and a Puerto Rican father. She lived in Spain until her family moved to the United States. In 2005 Ms. Hernández received her Masters of Fine Arts from Tyler School of Art, Philadelphia. Since then, she has work as a professional artist, and accomplished a number of national and international artist residencies and fellowships.
Ana’s artwork is part of the permanent collections at the Woodmere Art Museum, Chestnut Hill, PA, and the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, IND. In addition, she has been the recipient of prestigious awards, such as the 2012 Unesco-Aschberg Bursaries for Artists, the 2014-15 Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant, and now, the 2015-16 Leeway Foundation Art and Change Grant, among others.
