Born and Raised in Los Angeles, California, Nkechi is a multimedia artist and the first Artist in Residence at The Colored Girls Museum. Nkechi is a recent graduate of Bryn Mawr College whose passion for reading and storytelling pushed her to obtain a degree in English Literature. While at Bryn Mawr, Nkechi created and directed The Faculty Diversity Initiative, the College’s first professional development component tackling diversity related classroom conflicts. As such, themes of race, social hierarchy, and displacement are all quite present in her work. During her residency, Nkechi is working on a series of essays tackling literacy, black womanhood, black joy, intersectionality, and more. Stay tuned for updates about her progress.
