GriotWorks presents Cultural Competency Courses, a series aimed at teaching foundations in African American storytelling, history, the future and social justice. Workshops are on the 2nd Saturday of the month from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. How to Lead a Social Media Movement on February 14 is led by Nina 'Lyrispect' Ball from AFFRM National and Black Girls Rock. Black Super Heros, Heroines and Social Justice on March 14 is led by Yumy Odom from East Coast Black Age of Comics and Frator Heru. Ethnographic Storytelling: Capturing Culture Through Contemporary Tales on April 11 is led by Misty Sol, an interdisciplinary storyteller. Storytelling for Social Impact: Old Folklore, New Change on May 9 is led by Jos Duncan (LTA '13, ACG '11), the Director of GriotWorks. All workshops are $5.
