Tremain Smith: Encaustic Painting Workshop

Tremain Smith (WOO '02) will be teaching an Encaustic Painting Workshop on April 26 at her studio. The workshop will cover basics of encaustic: making encaustic medium and encaustic paint, fusing, substrates, equipment and safety, as well as ways of creating texture and building and removing layers, carving and branding into the wax, and collaging with wax. Tremain will demonstrate my technique of layering with transparent wax, scratching and burning in, and adding color with oil glazes and collage. [learn more]
