Vashti Dubois Debuts The Colored Girls Museum at Fringearts

Vashti Dubois (ACG '12, LTA '06) debuts her new work, The Colored Girls Museum at the Fringe Festival on September 11 through 13. The installation re-imagines the museum as sanctuary, underground railroad and historical record. Vishti's home is converted into an interactive performance space. Participants will be guided through the house, each room is themed around an aspect a black woman's life. Participating former Leeway Foundation grantees include Betty Leacraft (ACG '14, LTA '11, ACG '09, WOO '99), Betsy Z. Casansa (LTA '08), Denise Allen (ACG '14), Barbara Bullock (BBA '02), Celestine Wilson (ACG '09), Rhashidah Perry-Jones (ACG '09), Toni Kersey (ACG '11, '07), and Trapeta Mayson (ACG '14, LTA '07). Showings are on Friday, September 11 at 7:00pm and 8:00pm, Saturday, September 12 at 7:00pm and 8:00pm and Sunday, September 13 at 3:00pm. The location will be sent after ticket purchase. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here
