Aisha Goss

Aisha will create the documentary film, Trial by Fire: Blessings Out of the Ashes, to portray the personal account of her family’s heartache in losing everything to a house fire, and the diverse community that supported them through this hardship. Expressing both the challenges and unexpected blessings that emerged from the fire, Aisha will interview each of her family members, as well as members of the diverse and resilient community that supported them through tragedy. The film will provide commentary on issues of homelessness, community building, and ways to provide resources for those in need, and create a dialogue between the artist and the audience, redefining the meaning of community and challenging the values of materialistic culture. Aisha will hold public screenings of the completed film and submit it to be aired on local public television stations.
