Documenting and Archiving the Artist
In partnership with the Philadelphia Folklore Project, Leeway is offering a special workshop led by media artist tiona.m. (LTA ’09, ACG ’07). Saturday January 22, 2011, from 12pm-2pm in our office (1315 Walnut Street, Suite 832 in Center City East).
This workshop will cover the practice of archiving and documenting your creative process as well as discussing the value of honoring the importance of your work as an artist. Participants will get help to create a steady routine of documenting your artistic work and that will strengthen your grant applications as well as your own process of growth as an artist. Topics addressed in this small workshop include photography and video documentation, blogging and online archive, public and private journaling, and collecting and assembling press clippings.
tiona.m. is a media artist whose mission is to make the invisible, visible and humanize her subjects. She believes that her work as a filmmaker and visual artist can inspire various communities by affirming their existence in contemporary society. tiona. m. has been a part of several of Leeway’s grant worksample preparation sessions and is offering this workshop as part of Leeway’s artist-to-artist workshop series.
