Anissa Weinraub is a public school educator, theater-maker and organizer, living and working in Philadelphia. She works at the Academy at Palumbo HS, where she is lucky enough to teach speculative fiction, direct visionary theater, and help students claim their fullest, most-expressive selves. She loves facilitating ensemble-based devising processes, telling stories to live audiences, and convening groups of people to strategize toward collective change. Her current work fuses these passions, as she is collaborating with education justice organizers to co-create a piece of documentary theater that shares their visions for educational transformation in Philadelphia. She has also ventured into working in film, most recently on the upcoming web series, Resistance: the battle of philadelphia, where she is serving as an executive producer.
