Shanel Edwards

Shanel Edwards is a Black Queer Femme dancer, photographer, and poet in the Philadelphia Area. They are a Temple University graduate with a degree in African American Studies and Psychology. Shanel has been a featured performer in Black Lives Matter Philly's Black Joy Rally, Queer Abstract, Stay Black Baby, Our Black Arts Festival, Blessed Body, and many other POC centered spaces. She has facilitated dance classes for D2D: Dare to Dance, The Philly Pigeon and various studios in the city. They often offer improvisational workshops that center body awareness and confidence. Overall, Shanel uses their artistry as activism by demonstrating radical softness/honesty to uplift marginalized communities.
