Bartol Foundation presents Addressing Ethical Challenges in Community Arts Practice on Thursday, June 18 from 3:00pm-5:00pm at Friends Center (1501 Cherry Street). This discussion will share the work of Arlene Goldbard, leading thinker in the practice of community-based arts work. Arlene has identified the most common issues that lead to ethical challenges including: freedom of expression, personal boundaries, identity, and the role of the community artist. Facilitated by Bartol staff Beth Feldman Brandt and Michelle Angela Ortiz, this discussion will work through your examples of these challenges (past or present) using Arlene’s process for understanding the underlying issues of ethical dilemmas and working through them respectfully and productively.
