Tremain Smith (WOO '02) will be teaching an Encaustic Painting Workshop on April 26 at her studio. The workshop will cover basics of encaustic: making encaustic medium and encaustic paint, fusing, substrates, equipment and safety, as well as ways of creating texture and building and removing layers, carving and branding into the wax, and collaging with wax.
