CAGE Presents Khmer Dance Workshop on February 11

Join Cambodian American Girls Empowering for our FIRST workshop of 2017. This FREE, all ages workshop will introduce you to the basics of Khmer dance, dance techniques, and how to speak the language of love in Khmer dance. Learn the flirty moves of the Coconut Dance, a folk dance about village life, being young, and friendship. Facilitating the workshop will be Dyliyah Heng and Cynthia Son. Both Dyliyah and Cynthia have more than 12 years of Khmer dance training and have been performing throughout the city of Philadelphia for the past 10 years. This special Valentine’s Day Folk Dance Workshop is a great date idea for any budget! Bring your loved one(s) out and have some fun learning some new moves. We will be serving some light refreshments (coconut juice? Traditional Khmer snacks? Come find out!). There is a suggested $10 per person donation at the door.

Location: Building Bok, 1901 S. 9th Street, Room 106, Philadelphia, PA 19148

Saturday, Feburary 11th, 2017 from 5PM-6PM.

The building is wheelchair accessible, but please message us to ensure you are accommodated properly. Some of the choreography does involve sitting on your knees for some time-- we suggest knee pads if you are so inclined! If you have any food allergies or restrictions, please message us. We would like to make refreshments available for everyone. The workshop will be hosted by Lanica Angpak, founder of Cambodian American Girls Empowering.
