Educators Night out at African American Museum of Philadelphia

The African American Museum of Philadelphia (70 Arch Street) invites educators and arts advocates to a discussion about their exhibit on the lives and visual art practices of Africans (Siddis) in India on Friday, November 6 from 7:00pm-9:00pm. This event is free and open to the public. Click here to RSVP.

Visitors are invited to enjoy refreshments, and connect with fellow educators while exploring the Museum's interactive exhibits. There will be demonstrations of the Trailblazers to Freedom Traveling Trunks project, as well as an opportunity to view the current exhibits: Africans and India: From Slaves to Generals and Rulers, Soulful Stitching: Patchwork Quilts by Africans in India, and Audacious Freedoms.

At 7:30pm, the co-curators of Soulful Stitching (Dr. Henry J. Drewal, Evjue-Bascom Professor of African and African Diaspora Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Dr. Sarah K. Khan, Director of the Tasting Cultures Foundation) will discuss their research.
