Fleisher Art Memorial’s Teen Lounge (719 Catharine Street) provides young people with opportunities to work with experienced Teaching Artists from around the region. Participating teens evaluate proposals submitted by Teaching Artists. Artists will be asked to attend a proposal review fair scheduled for December 7 to meet Teen Lounge students, who will then vote to select the artists they want to work with in the winter.
The workshops should offer young people, between the ages 13 and 18, exciting opportunity to be introduced to a medium or explore a theme of relevance to this age group and be completed in 6 to 8 hours between January and March 2017. Experimental workshop proposals are welcome. The sessions will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:30pm to 6:00pm. Up to 20 students attend our Teen Lounge daily, from a variety of levels in art making experiences. Fleisher will be selecting six visiting artists, who are compensated up to $600 for four sessions with a supply budget of $150.
