Another year of Girls Rock Philly's after school programming begins this fall, and we're looking for folks to join our team of after school facilitators! Starting in early October, programs will run multiple days weekly, culminating in a December showcase.
For those of you new to GRP's after school program from year's past, all of our programs will feature the same elements as our GRP Summer Camp: learning to play instruments, writing songs, playing in bands, attending workshops, building self-confidence, collaborating, and other wonderful things that help our youth participants rock, including dedicated homework help time!
WHO & WHAT: We're looking for instructors who can teach bass, guitar, drums, keyboards or other digital music tools in group lessons, or support students as they experiment with writing original music, and provide support for final performances at our showcase.
We're also looking for facilitators willing to offer workshops and intensives, covering topics such as Songwriting, Recording, Improv, Music History, Looping and more. We're committed to creating safer spaces for girls, trans girls, young people of color as they create, express and explore, and are looking for facilitators who share that commitment.
WHEN: October-December 2017, January-May 2018
WHERE: While occasionally programs will be held at our headquarters, after school programs will be held in our new satellite space, at Jerry's on Front (2341 N Front St).
COMPENSATION: This is a paid position; facilitator and Instructor positions are compensated on a part-time, hourly wage basis of at least $15/hr. Final wage rate will be determined after application.
HOW: Interested in becoming an instructor at our After School Program, or facilitating a workshop or intensive? Let us know here!
Please fill out this form no later than Monday, October 9- we'll follow up with folks to request resumes, references and possibly interviews starting Tuesday, October 10.
