Jennifer Baker Showcasing New Work at ART 101

Jennifer Baker (ACG '10) and Fara'h Salehi will be showcasing new work in an exhibition presented by ART 101. The exhibition runs from Friday, September 9 to Sunday, October 9. An opening reception will be held September 9 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.

Jennifer Baker is a painter and sculptor working in the Northern Liberties neighborhood of Philadelphia, where she has been documenting the transformation of that neighborhood for almost 30 years. She has shown extensively in both Philadelphia and New York, most recently at La Mama Experimental Theater Club where her exhibit “Portraits of People on the Move” was part of the La MaMa Moves Festival.

Fara'h Salehi has a degree from Pratt in industrial design. She is a metal fabricator and welder. "Metal seems hard and cold but in fact it is organic; it has a memory; metal holds what you give it." Salehi lives and works in Brooklyn.

ART 101 was founded in 2004 by the artist, Ellen E. Rand. Committed to providing a venue for fine art for its own sake, the gallery is a showplace for exceptional works by artists of all ages and stages, with a long-standing appreciation for sublime painting in the rich mix of art and artists. Poetry readings, artist talks and special receptions are part of the ongoing program. Individual appointments (outside regular gallery hours) are welcome. Art 101 is located at 101 Grand Street, Brooklyn, NY, 11211.
