Nanci Hersh (ACG' 13, ’10) will be exhibiting paintings from her Koi Pond Series at Mala Galleria (206 East St.) in Kennett Square, PA May 1 through June 3. Opening reception is Friday, May 2, 6:00pm-9:00pm. Free and open to the public. Brightly colored fish swim through the net patterns in Hersh’s paintings above and below the surface. Koi are a symbol of perseverance and strength of purpose. Hersh’s work is an ongoing exploration of what sustains us when adversity challenges us, what moves us forward and binds us to the past and, what we find and keep and what we leave behind. Akin to love and loss, images and materials swim together, drift, snag and cast shadows shifting above and below the surface.
