What did Kensington look like in the past? And how has it changed? Philadelphia artist Betty Leacraft ((LTA ‘11, ACG ‘16, ‘14, ‘09, WOO ‘99)) will premiere her latest quilt "Kensington Memories," commissioned by Philadelphia Assembled, which will display the passage of time through archival images of the Kensington neighborhood.
The first exhibition of its kind at the Museum, Philadelphia Assembled joins art and civic engagement. Initiated by artist Jeanne van Heeswijk, together with hundreds of collaborators from across the city (http://www.phlassembled.net), the project explores Philadelphia's changing landscape and tells a story of radical community building and active resistance.
