Philadelphia Public History Truck is Looking for Fairhill Residents to Share their Stories

Erin Bernard (ACG '15) and José Ortiz-Pagán of the Philadelphia Public History Truck are looking to crowd-source public memory to create meaningful sculptures, which represent the Fairhill neighborhood's history and contemporary lived experience. If you know a family from this neighborhood who would like to spend time sharing their stories please contact them at phillyhistorytruck@gmail.com

A Meditation on Memory: Visually Mapping Fairhill is a socially-engaged public history and art place-making project funded by Philadelphia LISC in which a set of six new nontraditional historical markers will be made and installed in the Fairhill neighborhood in collaboration with community members. This is the first step in History Truck's journey to installing an exhibition at Taller Puertorriqueño gallery (N. 5th Street) in June 2017.
