From End Caste Apartheid to Smash Brahminical Patriarchy: The Art of Equality Labs brings together the political art of the South Asian Bahujan American collective, Equality Labs. Equality Labs was formed in 2015 as the first South Asian American arts, organizing, and technology collective led exclusively by Dalit Bahujan Americans. Their work is dedicated to ending caste apartheid, gender based violence, islamophobia, and religious intolerance. This exhibition will explore their pathmaking work to break critical conversations around these issues that has remade our understandings of both South Asian and Asian American immigrant identity.

From End Caste Apartheid to Smash Brahminical Patriarchy: The Art of Equality Labs is on view Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm, from February 25 – April 12, 2019 at Asian Arts Initiative (AAI).
