Therapy Center of Philadelphia Hiring Clinical Director and Clinical Supervisor

Therapy Center of Philadelphia is seeking a Clinical Director and Clinical Supervisor.

Therapy Center of Philadelphia is starting its search for a new Clinical Director. After 28 years of working at TCP, our current Clinical Director will be retiring.

This is a key position at the agency, with opportunities to greatly inform and guide the mission and the staff who work here. The Clinical Director (CD) manages all clinical operations including the intake department, case assignment, group, individual, and couples therapy, all TCP training programs and clinical supervision, and interviewing and hiring of all new clinical staff and trainees.  The CD supervises and supports all clinical supervisors and the intake coordinator, particularly around sensitive clinical situations. They also oversee and provide guidance around compliance with all ethical and legal requirements, including HIPAA regulations and PA Law on Reporting Child Abuse. The Executive Director relies heavily on the CD and works very closely with them.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned clinician with special interest and experience in training, supervision of the clinical process, gender, racial equity, and the self of the therapist. Our clinicians come from diverse backgrounds and varied levels of experience. They may have expertise in psychodynamic, family systems, and gestalt therapy approaches, relational-cultural theory, trauma treatment, and mindfulness. TCP also has specific programs focusing on trauma work utilizing EMDR, a group for LGBT prospective parents, trauma-informed yoga, and a music therapy group for transgender and gender nonconforming individuals. TCP is committed to becoming fully trans-affirming and inclusive. The agency is also actively working on changing its white dominant culture and becoming an organization that promotes and models racial equity. The Clinical Director must possess an understanding and passion for these intentions.

This is a salaried part-time position at 12 hours a week.  Fridays are required, as well as at least one other day on site.

Requirements

  • PA Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Professional Counselor
  • 3-5 years prior clinical supervisory experience with seasoned clinicians and trainees
  • Knowledge of how to incorporate aspects of social location and  intersectionality into the clinical relationship
  • Knowledge of transgender and gender nonconforming identities and experiences
  • Knowledge of relational and feminist therapies
  • Leadership and facilitation experience preferred
  • Experience with using EMDR a plus


Responsibilities

  • Oversees all clinical operations including the intake department, case assignment, hiring of clinicians, clinical supervision, group, individual, and couples therapy.
  • Develops and monitors TCP's training programs for all interns, practicum students and post-doctoral candidates.
  • Supervises a small number of clinicians.
  • Oversees all interviewing, hiring, and orientation of all new clinical supervisors, clinical staff, and trainees.  
  • Supervises and supports all other clinical supervisors and the intake coordinator, particularly around sensitive clinical situations.
  • Monitors and provides guidance around compliance with all ethical and legal requirements, including HIPAA regulations and PA Law on Reporting Child Abuse.
  • Writes and implements new policies as needed with Executive Director
  • Work closely with Executive Director and other clinical supervisors to actualize mission and vision.
  • Prepares for and facilitates all monthly meetings of clinical supervisors.

TCP is hiring a new Clinical Supervisor to join its supervisory team.  The team, led by the Clinical Director, provides clinical oversight and supervision to all clinicians, including senior level therapists, associates obtaining hours for clinical licensure, and students. In line with its mission, the team also plays a strong role with the Executive Director and Board to guide program and policy directions for the agency.  

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician with special interest and experience in clinical work, gender, and social justice issues. The Center is growing, and as we expand the supervisory team, our focus is on giving clinical staff opportunities for varied clinical expertise and style. Our clinicians come from diverse backgrounds and offer expertise in psychodynamic, psychoanalytic, gestalt therapy, and contextual family therapy approaches; CBT,  and mindfulness. TCP has specific programs focusing on trauma work utilizing EMDR, trauma - sensitive yoga, music therapy for transgender and gender nonconforming individuals, and a program for LGBT prospective parents.  TCP strives to be fully trans-affirming and inclusive. We also maintain a commitment to address issues of race and social location within the therapy relationship and in the organization.

This is an independent contractor position.  The average hours are 10-15 a month. Must be here some Fridays and an alternative day. Opportunities to carry a small caseload of clients can be considered too.
