USDAC is seeking a motivated, organized, reliable, efficient, and ‘can-do!’ operations and communications manager to support the activities of the people-powered U.S. Department of Arts and Culture.
This person in this critical new position will help build and maintain infrastructure and capacity to catch up with rapidly growing participation and activity across the USDAC network. We’re looking for someone who has experience and comfort working remotely, is comfortable learning and using new tech platforms, and has experience in both digital communications and organizational administration.
A strong match will have experience in building effective systems to manage complex projects. Experience working at the intersection of arts, social justice, and organizing is welcome, but not essential so long as the applicant is aligned with USDAC values.

Requirements
LOCATION: While the majority of this work can be done remotely, we are seeking candidates in Philadelphia or the surrounding region, who can easily take in-person meetings with members of our core team.
COMPENSATION: This person will be an independent contractor. We anticipate the role will grow to an average of 30 hours per week, but is likely to start smaller. We are offering $17/hour, with possibility of increased hours/rate after first six months.
