The People's Paper Co-op presents Women in Reentry Day on June 10, 1:00 - 8:00PM at the Village of Arts and Humanities, 2544 Germantown Ave.
The day is being organized by an amazing group of formerly incarcerated women who not only created a powerful art exhibit about their lives, dreams, and demands, but who wanted to use that exhibit as a way to bring people together who are working to support women coming home.
Come together with advocates, service providers, artists, and an amazing group of women in reentry, as we reimagine how we could collaborate to truly support women impacted by the criminal justice system.
1-3 PM: Symposium for service providers and advocates. This informal dialogue hopes to further connect, inspire, and nurture collaborative efforts to support women in reentry.
3-5 PM: Resource fair for Women in Reentry. Come to share / get resources. Stay for the amazing artwork, food, and community!
5 - 8PM: Join us for the opening reception of the Women in Reentry Day art and justice exhibition featuring work by women in reentry, currently incarcerated women, and women supporting loved ones that are locked up. This powerful exhibit will feature food, refreshments, live poetry readings, an immersive installation, and a DJ!
This event features the art and organizational magic of Faith Bartley (ACG '15) and Courtney Bowles (ACG '16).
