CeCe McDonald survived a brutal attack, only to be incarcerated for defending her life. After an international movement to free her, CeCe emerged as a leader to interrogate the prison industrial complex and inspire women to fight back when attacked. The East Coast premiere of FREE CeCe! is Sunday, August 7 from 12:50pm to 2:30pm at the International House (3701 Chestnut St).

The BlackStar Film Festival is an annual celebration of the visual and storytelling traditions of the African diaspora and of global indigenous communities, showcasing films by black people from around the world.
The BlackStar Film Festival runs August 4 through August 7 at the International House of Philadelphia and the Leonard Pearlstein Gallery. Tickets are $12 for General Admission, $8 for Students/Seniors, $6 for BlackStar Members and $6 for IHP Members.
