RA PRIMUS
Ra Primus will work in collaboration with Food Moxie to document the creation of seed to table food systems that benefit marginalized communities in Northwest Philadelphia. With an audio journal, weaving together meetings, interviews, speeches, poetry, music and found sound, this residency aims to address food insecurity and validate how essential food sovereignty is to Black liberation. This audio work will amplify the voices of the Black community so their needs can be heard and met, within the context of racial and economic justice, and support a movement away from charity toward reparations and shared power.
FOOD MOXIE
From seed to supper, Food Moxie educates and inspires people to grow, cook, taste and eat healthy foods. We partner with schools and community organizations to activate educational growing spaces that offer experiential learning in gardening, farming, nutrition, and culinary arts. We encourage our partners to engage with our growing spaces in ways that support self-determination in the food system. We also provide the tools and resources necessary to inspire our communities to grow, cook, and thrive at home.
