2014 Art and Change Grant – $2,500

Tokay will compose a Liberian traditional song and music video with input from young people that will educate Philadelphia youth about HIV/AIDS. Tokay hopes that this project will encourage compassion and positive action; set the stage for ongoing dialogue about harm reduction; and open the path to further work at the intersection of culture and public health as it relates to social justice.

The Window of Opportunity (WOO) grant provides financial assistance of up to $1,500 to Leeway grant and award recipients to help them take advantage of imminent, time-sensitive opportunities to support their art for social change practice. The Community Care Fund (CCF) provides financial assistance of up to $1,250 to Leeway grant and award recipients to support with immediate and essential emergency needs. [read more]
