Denise Beek is a writer, performer, and narrative strategist who has worked inside of arts, culture, and social justice organizations for over a decade. She currently serves as VP of Original Storytelling for Represent Justice, and board co-chair of BlackStar Projects. From 2018-2023, Denise held the inaugural post as Chief Communications Officer for me too. International. She has also written, performed and worked on productions at Philly Improv Theater, BlackStar Live!, and BlackStar’s The Daily Jawn.   

Her professional experience is a mix of arts administration, cultural production and public engagement at organizations like the Leeway Foundation, Painted Bride Art Center, the Black Lily Film & Music Festival, and the Union Square Awards. Her passion for gender equity and racial justice fuels all of her artistic, cultural and social justice work as she believes that narrative justice is critical to the work of bearing witness to the world as it is so we can build towards a world as it should be.
