Ark of Safety
Ark of Safety is a grassroots, community-based organization committed to providing affirming, trauma-informed housing and holistic support for Transgender, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Queer (TLGBQ+) individuals navigating homelessness and instability. Founded and led by Black and Brown Trans woman Tatyana Woodard, Ark of Safety serves as both a spiritual and practical refuge for those often excluded from traditional shelters and services.
Our flagship programs include emergency housing, wraparound services such as ID recovery, job readiness, and harm reduction, as well as The Bloom House—a four-resident independent living program launching this fall. Rooted in compassion and care, these programs foster dignity, stability, and long-term healing. Our work is grounded in a vision of collective liberation—where everyone has the right to be housed, whole, and seen.
