Mama Carla Wiley will produce and distribute 43 handmade “comfort” quilts for neighbors in Olney, centering sewing sessions with the Community Quilters group and hosting quilt-tying gatherings at the Olney Community Collaborative. The quilts will be stitched with words and symbols of comfort, and the sessions will involve teaching community members sewing skills, building neighbor-to-neighbor support, and placing the handmade quilts into the hands of people experiencing loss and trauma.
