Gender Reel Film and Performance Festival is Coming to Philly

Gender Reel Film Festival is coming to Philadelphia this October! This one of-a-kind event, run by Joe Ippolito (LTA '12, ACG '11), is the country's only coast-to-cost film festival dedicated to enhancing the visibility of gender non-conforming, gender variant/queer and transgender people, identities and experiences. Its goal is to empower filmmakers and performance artists to create work reflective of this mission by providing an accessible and embracing platform where this work can be showcased.

This year, the festival will be held at the Rotunda (4014 Walnut Street) on Saturday and Sunday, October 4 and 5, from 2:00pm-10:00pm. This two-day event will feature panel discussions, performance art, Q&As, and of course showcase over 30 documentary and narrative films (both short & feature in length) on the lives and experiences of gender non-conforming and trans people. Tickets for each day are $10, but Gender Reel will NEVER turn anyone away from attending due to an inability to buy a ticket.

Be sure to check out the Facebook event!
