Projections by Chinatown Art Brigade in collaboration with Asian Americans United and Viet Lead
Chinese Christina Church & Center Vine Street Parking Lot
1101 Vine Street
Friday, July 6, 8:30pm

As a cultural collective of artists, media makers and activists, the Chinatown Art Brigade is collaborating with Asian Americans United and Viet Lead to support their hosting of the national Grassroots Asians Risings Youth Summit in Philadelphia. Chinatown Art Brigade has designed a visual platform that will amplify housing rights, gentrification, issues of immigrant rights and the increased threats of ICE deportations and detentions on our immigrant communities on both a local and national level.

Working in close partnership with The Illuminator, and through a series of community planning workshops, convenings and place-keeping walks, the project culminates in a large-scale outdoor projection celebrating stories of resistance and resilience in Philadelphia, putting a human face on gentrification and immigration, and generating a nation-wide response to this urgent issue.

(ex)CHANGE: History Place Presence projects have been supported by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage.

Support for Asian Arts Initiative’s 25th Anniversary provided by The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, Samuel S. Fels Fund, and Wyncote Foundation.
