Mariposa & the Saint

Decarcerate PA and Let's Get Free: The Women & Trans Prisoner Defense Committee partner to present, Mariposa & the Saint, a play made from Sara (Mariposa) Fonseca’s letters to her longtime friend Julia Steele Allen, after she was sentenced to fifteen months in solitary confinement. Mariposa brings her experience to the stage. It is a 45-minute play with two actors, a mobile set, projections and recorded sound. A dialogue with prison justice advocates follows every performance.
