Unlearning Caste Supremacy

Unlearning Caste Supremacy: Philadelphia Workshop
Saturday, March 2, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Asian Arts Initiative, 1219 Vine St.

Equality Labs is excited to announce their highly anticipated Unlearning Caste Supremacy Series! Based on the historic and groundbreaking Caste in the United States Report, they have developed an all day workshop designed to open up the difficult but necessary dialogues of caste privilege in our community, and how we can start dismantling it. The workshop will introduce participants to the history of caste in the diaspora, train folks in identifying structures of caste privilege, and create collaborative co-learning spaces where communities can talk across caste and faith divides to start addressing caste oppression.

Admission is sliding scale $25 – $100 for allies. Caste oppressed communities will not be turned away for lack of funds.

If you’re a member of a caste oppressed community, please e-mail Equality Labs at [email protected] for admission.

Tickets will be available at the door, but pre-registration is strongly recommended. This workshop is tailored for progressive South Asian and Indo-Caribbean communities, who want to work to be allies to caste oppressed Americans. We are a liberatory space for caste oppressed immigrants who want to learn more about their history.

For more information and to register, please visit Asian Arts Initiative's website.
