Family Style Open Mic Night at Asian Arts Initiative

Asian Arts Initiative  (1219 Vine Street) presents Family Style open mic night. May will be a special Asian Pacific American Heritage Month event, doubling as a fundraiser in support of Manavi, an organization that works to end all forms of violence against South Asian women Featuring Leeway Foundation Program Director and poet, Sham-e-Ali Nayeem, Poet/Storyteller, Kao Kue filmmakers, Anula Shetty (LTA ‘07, WOO ‘04, HG ’02) and Mike Kuetemeyer. With a special performance by Yellow Rage, Michelle Myers (LTA '14, ACG '11) and Catzie Vilayphonh (ACG '14, LTA '10, ACG '10, WOO '02).  Friday, May 17 at 7:30pm. Doors open at 7pm. $5-$10 Sliding Scale Admission. Half of the Box Office will be donated to Manavi Supporting Partner: PA Governor’s Advisory Commission on Asian American Affairs Family Styleʼs monthly showcase of stories, song, dance and poetry for Asian Americans and extended Ê»familyʼ of all cultures.
