Geechee Girl Rice Cafe Exhibit

The Leeway Foundation, in partnership with Geechee Girl Rice Cafe, presents an exhibit of work by two grantees running from September 6 to October. Geechee Girl Rice Cafe, which features cuisine from the American South, is committed to community building through their decisions to use locally grown produce and regularly feature the artwork of local artists.

The exhibit features the work of two Leeway grantees, Barbara Bullock (BBA '02) and Ife Nii Owoo (ACG ’07), who live in the Germantown/Mt. Airy region of the city where Geechee Girl Rice Cafe is located. This is part of a series of exhibits throughout the region opening in Fall 2011 coordinated by Leeway to feature artists’ work outside of galleries and in community spaces.

Geechee Girl Rice Cafe is located at 6825 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19119. The artwork is available for viewing during dinner and brunch hours when the restaurant is open for business, Tu-Thurs: 5:30pm to 9:00 pm., Fri-Sat: 5:30pm to 10:00 pm, Sunday Brunch 11:00am to 2:30pm, and Sunday Dinner 5:30pm to 9:00pm.
