In 1986, Beverly Glenn-Copeland’s pioneering synthesized musical explorations were self-released on an audio cassette entitled Keyboard Fantasies. That album went largely unnoticed for thirty years. After studying classical music and recording two folk-jazz records with the CBC Studios, Glenn-Copeland began experimenting with electronic sound in his Atari- powered home-studio. Through rich oral history, performance footage, and intergenerational exchanges, Keyboard Fantasies: The Beverly Glenn-Copeland Story presents an audio-visual tapestry of Glenn’s full life, from growing up in the Greenbelt Knoll neighborhood of Northeast, Philadelphia to his first international tour at age 74.
The screening will be followed by a pre-recorded discussion with the filmmaker, viewable on the Eventive platform. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for students and seniors, and $5 for Scribe Members.
